This Cookie Policy explains how Campground Social uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our website or interact with our services.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small data files placed on your device when you visit a website. Browser storage, such as localStorage and sessionStorage, can also keep service-interface state on your device. They are different mechanisms, so blocking cookies alone may not clear browser storage.
2. Service Cookies
- cgs_session: Keeps you signed in. The application sets it as an HTTP-only session cookie with a 30-day expiry.
- pending_audit_id: Carries an audit reference through the audit-to-sign-in flow. Its expiry is one hour when set by the login request and one day when set by the audit interface. A reference alone does not prove account ownership.
- cgs_audit_report_read: A short-lived report-read grant with a 30-minute expiry, used after an accepted audit capture.
- cgs_impersonate: Used only for an authorized operator account-review session, not ordinary public browsing.
3. Browser Storage
- sessionStorage: Holds audit-interface state, temporary billing notices and onboarding-tour state, and retry identities for order requests. Order retry storage contains a digest and random request ID, not the post URL or payment details. Operator review screens also use session storage for pending review state.
- localStorage: Saves operator filter presets under cgs_admin_presets. It is not a public language-preference cookie.
4. Optional Analytics and Essential Security
Optional Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity collection is currently disabled on Campground. We do not load those trackers or send cookieless analytics pings. There is no analytics opt-in control while that feature is unavailable.
Disabling optional analytics does not disable sign-in, abuse prevention, requested service operations, or operational event records. Cloudflare Turnstile is used for security checks and sends a challenge token and IP address for verification. Stripe's payment interface and the separately linked Help Center have their own processing. See the Privacy Policy for the service-provider inventory.
5. Managing Cookies and Storage
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- Block or delete cookies
- Receive alerts before cookies are stored
- View which cookies have been saved
- Clear site data, including local and session storage
Blocking or clearing service cookies can sign you out or interrupt audit continuity and report access. Clearing retry storage during an uncertain order response can remove its browser retry identity; review the recorded order before trying again. These controls do not recall information already sent to a service provider.
